This Sunday we will be discovering what it means to be peacemaker.  What does Jesus mean by ‘Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God’ (Matthew 5:9)?

Here’s a song from what a Christian Scientist hopes for and perhaps it something every Christ follower should hope for…

Unity (by Joseph Garlano)

Don’t let them get to you.
I understand what they’re trying to do.
We don’t need to make a scene.
Let’s try to work this through.

It’s not about which side we’re on.
Think about all that we agree upon.
They may see things differently;
that doesn’t mean they’re wrong.

If we let this go too far,
it could tear us all apart.
An open mind and softened heart
is where the healing starts.

We don’t want to cause a fight.
Putting them down won’t prove we’re right.
We can handle this with gentleness.
We can be a shining light.

If we let this go too far,
it could tear us all apart.
An open mind and softened heart
is where the healing starts.

I believe, eventually, things are going to change.
The fear inside will be set aside and love will take its place.
Those perceived as enemies will be seen in a different way.
All who strive to compromise will bring a better day.
This deficit of trust has existed long enough.

If we let this go too far,
it could tear us all apart.
An open mind and softened heart
is where the healing starts.
